Anaheim police Thursday sought the public’s help tracking down a suspect in the murder a 49-year-old man in a motel room and the kidnapping of a former girlfriend from the same location.
Police did not provide a motive and did not speculate about the possibility that the killing and kidnapping may have something to do with a love triangle.
Luke Theodore Lampers, a 35-year-old transient, is suspected of gunning down Douglas Navarro last night at Crystal Inn, 2123 W. Lincoln Ave., said Anaheim police Sgt. Daron Wyatt.
The shooting happened just before 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Wyatt said. Police were still trying to determine a motive for the shooting.
Lampers and the victim got into some sort of dispute at the motel prior to the shooting, Wyatt said.

Lampers is also suspected of kidnapping Brianne Deese from the motel, Wyatt said. Deese and Lampers have had a “romantic” relationship in the past, but detectives believe she is being held against her will, Wyatt said.
Lampers fled in a 2011 orange Nissan Cube with the license plates 6SOY425, Wyatt said. He is considered armed and dangerous and anyone who sees him should call 911 immediately, Wyatt said.
