Police were searching Saturday for a man suspected of robbing a Garden Grove bank and making a successful escape in a newer BMW SUV, authorities said.
It was reported at 2:32 p.m. at the Chase Bank at 12555 Valley View Street, Garden Grove police Sgt. Brian Dalton said.

Bank employees told officers the suspect entered the bank and demanded money, Dalton said.
“The suspect mentioned having a weapon, however none was seen.” The suspect fled the bank before officers arrived.
The suspect was described as white, 30 to 40 years old, driving a newer white BMW SUV, the sergeant said.
The amount of money taken was not available, he said.
No injuries were reported.
