The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped a half-cent Sunday to $4.561.

The average price is three-tenths of a cent less than one week ago, 13.6 cents less than one month ago and 72.9 cents less than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It has dropped $1.933 since rising to a record $6.494 on Oct. 5, 2022.

The Orange County average price dropped eight-tenths of a cent to $4.489. It is four-tenths of a cent more than one week ago, but 13.4 cents less than one month ago and 75 cents less than one year ago. The Orange County average price has dropped $1.97 since rising to a record $6.459 on Oct. 5, 2022.

The national average price dropped seven-tenths of a cent to $3.414. It is 3.1 cents less than one week ago, 9.2 cents less than one month ago and 45.9 cents less than one year ago. The national average price has dropped $1.602 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.

“Summer is wrapping up soon, and so far, gas prices have barely wobbled,” said Andrew Gross, an AAA national public relations manager. “But we still have a long way to go with hurricane season, so it’s too soon to declare that pump prices have started their usual autumn swoon.”
