A wildfire that ignited amid triple-digit temperatures burned 25 acres near the eastern border of Menifee before firefighters stopped its forward spread Saturday.

The fire was reported at 11:27 a.m. at Briggs and Simpson roads, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.

The department said fire crews on the ground were initially assisted by firefighting aircraft, but that air resources were released after the blaze’s forward spread was stopped.

No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire was under investigation.
