A high wind warning has been issued for the Riverside County mountains Wednesday by the National Weather Service.
The high wind warning will be in effect from 6 p.m. Wednesday to 10 a.m. Thursday for the San Gorgonio Pass near Banning and Idyllwild-Pine Valley.
West winds from 30 to 40 mph with gusts up to 70 mph are expected. Strong winds can damage trees and created difficult driving conditions.
The NWS recommends avoiding forested areas and being around trees and branches.
A wind advisory is in effect for the Coachella Valley from 6 p.m. Wednesday until 10 a.m. Thursday.
The wind advisory is in effect for Indio, Palm Springs, Cathedral City, Palm Desert, La Quinta, Coachella and Borrego Springs.
A wind advisory has been issued for Riverside County valley and Inland Empire communities from 8 a.m. Wednesday to 2 p.m. Thursday. The wind advisory is in effect in Riverside and Corona with north winds expected between 15 and 25 mph with gusts up to 40 mph.
