A driver who was ejected and killed after veering off the roadway and rolling over multiple times was identified Friday by the Riverside County Coroner’s Office.
Jose Manuel Rodriguez, 34, of Coachella the lone occupant of a Ford Expedition, made an unsafe turning motion around 10:30 a.m. Thursday while eastbound on Interstate 10 just west of Cook Street, according to California Highway Patrol Officer David Torres. He then drove off the right shoulder of the roadway and overturned multiple times.
Rodriguez was not wearing his seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle, according to Torres,
It was unclear whether drugs or alcohol were a factor in the crash. No other vehicles were involved.
