Cyndi Lauper will take the stage at Acrisure Arena Sunday as part of her “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun Farewell Tour,” supported by Trixie Mattel.
Lauper’s resume throughout her multi-decade career includes two Grammy Awards, an Emmy and a Tony. Her debut album, 1983’s “She’s So Unusual,” achieved RIAA-certified 7x-Platinum status and featured the No. 1 Billboard single “Time After Time.”
She started as a member of the short-lived band Blue Angel in the late 1970s to early 1980s before achieving solo notoriety for her distinctive style and four-octave vocal range. In addition to her work as an artist, Lauper is also a philanthropist, with a particular focus on LGBTQ+ advocacy.
Trixie Mattel, Lauper’s special guest at the 8 p.m. show, is a drag queen and singer-songwriter. She won the third season of “Ru-Paul’s Drag Race All-Stars” and released four albums between 2017 and 2022.
Lauper, who is coming off a concert in Inglewood on Saturday, is scheduled for another in-state show in San Francisco before a handful of additional shows throughout the country, prior to the European leg of her tour in 2025.
