California Highway Patrol investigators Tuesday asked anyone with information on a collision that caused a pedestrian’s death in El Cerrito to come forward.
The deadly crash happened just before 3 a.m. Monday on East Ontario Avenue, near Consul Avenue, just east of Interstate 15, according to the CHP.
Officer Javier Navarro said two vehicles collided, causing one to hit the pedestrian, who was walking through the area at the time.
Navarro said officers and Riverside County Fire Department paramedics reached the location within minutes and discovered the man, whose name was not immediately released, lying in the roadway. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
The motorists suffered minor injuries and were taken to a regional trauma center for treatment.
The Riverside CHP office is asking anyone who may have information regarding the fatal collision to contact investigators at 951-324-7210.
