The Los Angeles Rams announced the signing of receiver J.J. Worton, who participated in last week’s rookie minicamp as a tryout player.
Worton spent the final month of last season on the Rams practice squad as a rookie free agent from the University of Central Florida. He was signed to the New England Patriots practice squad in January before their divisional playoff game against the Kansas City Chiefs.
The Rams also announced Tuesday they had released receiver Isiah Ferguson from Arkansas-Pine Bluff.
Ferguson was signed by the team as an undrafted rookie free agent in 2015 when it was based in St. Louis, caught one pass for 15 yards in a preseason game against the Oakland Raiders, and was sidelined for the entire regular season because of a torn ACL.
