Chased out of Florida by Hurricane Irma, the Miami Dolphins were to fly to Los Angeles and take up residence here until their Sept. 17 game against the Los Angeles Chargers at StubHub Center in Carson.

Team owner Stephen Ross is funding the travel for any players, coaches, team staff and their families who have not already left Florida, according to Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports.

The Dolphins have already had Sunday’s scheduled season opener against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers postponed due to the hurricane, making the Chargers game their season opener.

The Dolphins flights was scheduled for Friday night.
