A brush fire Monday charred about 6 1/2 acres in La Cresta.
The non-injury blaze was reported about 4 a.m. at Via Volcano and Avocado Mesa Road, according to the Riverside County Fire Department. The fire department reported about 4 p.m. that the blaze was fully contained.
The cause of the fire was being investigated.
