A fire at a vacant restaurant in Sherman Oaks Friday evening was extinguished in 23 minutes by 56 firefighters .
The fire at 15017 Ventura Blvd., between Kester Avenue and Sepulveda Boulevard, was reported at 8:32 p.m., according to Margaret Stewart of the Los Angeles Fire Department. Knockdown was called at 8:55 p.m.
No injuries were reported and no other structures were damaged, Stewart said.
