A 27-year-old motorcyclist was killed when excessive speed forced his bike to rear-end a pickup truck on the Ronald Reagan (118) Freeway near the Los Angeles/Ventura county line, authorities said Sunday.

The crash occurred at about 11:20 p.m. Saturday on the westbound freeway, east of Rocky Peak Road, the California Highway Patrol reported.

The biker was traveling on a white 2008 Suzuki GXSR westbound in the number one lane, where the vehicle made an unsafe turning movement to the right and rear-ended a blue Toyota Tundra, also traveling in the number one lane, the CHP said.

The victim was ejected from the motorcycle and landed in the number four lane of traffic, where he was pronounced dead at the scene at 11:41 p.m.
