One person was killed and another was rushed to a hospital with major injuries after a crash in Palm Desert Friday, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
The single-vehicle crash was reported around 6 a.m. Friday in the 72100 block of Highway 111.
According to the fire department, the vehicle crashed into a fence while traveling at a high speed, and two people were extricated from the vehicle.
One of the occupants was pronounced dead at the scene and the second was rushed to a hospital with major injuries.
The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department was handling the investigation.
