An attic fire at a two-story apartment building in the Westlake district Wednesday evening was extinguished in 37 minutes by 88 firefighters with no injuries reported.
Firefighters responded to the 100 block of North Alvarado Street, near Beverly Boulevard, around 6:50 p.m. Wednesday regarding a fire burning in the attic of an 18-unit apartment building, Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Brian Humphrey said.
What may have sparked the fire remains unknown, and the cause was under investigation.
