Firefighters were working Friday morning to put out a brushfire touched off by an RV that caught fire on the right shoulder of the Pomona (60) Freeway in Diamond Bar.

The RV fire was reported at 3:46 a.m. on the westbound Pomona Freeway just east of Diamond Bar Boulevard, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Witnesses said flames were coming from the front end and inside of the RV and it eventually became fully engulfed in flames. Video from the scene showed flames working their way up the hillside from the remains of the RV.

There was no indication that anyone was trapped inside the motor home.

The CHP issued a Sigalert at about 4 a.m. shutting down all westbound lanes so fire trucks could get to the flames and because smoke impaired visibility. The HOV lane was opened to traffic at 4:18 a.m.
