At least one person was killed in a solo vehicle crash that shut down the northbound Antelope Valley (14) Freeway at the Palmdale Boulevard offramp for several hours during the California Highway Patrol investigation.
The crash was reported at 8:24 p.m. Friday after witnesses said a motorist in a gray Honda Civic was driving recklessly before going over the left side embankment, hitting a wall and losing a tire, according to the CHP.
Witnesses said the vehicle knocked over several signs, including one at a Chevron station, before overturning and landing upright on the offramp, near a Red Roof Inn.
The northbound Antelope Valley Freeway was closed at Palmdale Boulevard for more than six hours while the investigation continued.
