[16:9 Featured] Department of Water and Power LADWP Truck

Utility crews worked Saturday to repair two separate water main breaks that occurred in Tarzana and Koreatown within minutes of each other.

Eight customers in the Koreatown section of Los Angeles are without any water service from an 8-inch water main that burst at 5:11 a.m. in the 3600 block of West Fifth Street, said Kim Hughes of the Department of Water and Power.

Four minutes later, DWP crews were dispatched to 6203 Calvin Ave. in Tarzana to repair a 6-inch cast iron pipe that burst there, Hughes said. It was not immediately known how many customers were effected in Tarzana.

It was known when water services would be restored to the respective locations, she said.
