A Christmas tree ignited a fire Saturday at a Tujunga home, but the two people inside were able to escape injury.

Firefighters were dispatched at 5:34 a.m. to 6417 O Donnell Lane had the fire out within 27 minutes of their arrival, said Erik Scott of the Los Angeles City Fire Department.

“Fortunately, there were functional smoke alarms,” Scott said.

The fire was in a house about three blocks north of Foothill Boulevard, near Tujunga Canyon Place.
