A deputy was injured in a fight Tuesday with a suspect in a domestic violence call that originated in the unincorporated East Valinda area.
Deputies were sent to a home on Jellick Avenue at 4:05 p.m., said Deputy Amber Smith.
It is not clear what occurred after this, but a short chase ensued near Sunset County Park and a fight occurred there, Smith said.
The suspect was taken into custody and the deputy was taken to a hospital. The deputy’s injuries were not believed to be life threatening, Smith said.
