Acting on information developed by federal agents in Los Angeles, detectives in northern England arrested a man suspected of pirating television series and pre-release movies and posting them on the Internet, it was reported Friday.

The 26-year-old man, whose name was not released, was detained Thursday at his workplace in Leeds by detectives from the city of London’s Police Intellectual Property Crime Unit, according to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Investigators searched the man’s home in Halifax, where they seized several computers and mobile devices, according to ICE.

“The Expendables 3” was among the pre-release movies pirated by the man, according to ICE.

“The theft of creative content costs the entertainment industry untold millions,” said Claude Arnold, special agent in charge of ICE’s Homeland Security Investigations office in Los Angeles.

The arrest is the latest development in an investigation initiated last year by HSI special agents in Los Angeles after the agency received a tip from film industry representatives.
