An officer fired a shot at a pit bull that bit a city worker Wednesday in the South Los Angeles area, and police were looking for the animal.
The incident occurred about 9:30 a.m. near the 4700 block of Honduras Street, the Los Angeles Police Department reported.
The worker drove himself to a hospital for treatment of the dog bite, according to police, who said it was unclear if the animal was hit by the gunfire.
