The roof of a wireless store at a Pacoima strip mall caught fire Sunday, but was put out before it could spread to the rest of the structure, firefighters said.
The rooftop blaze is suspected to have erupted during a some roof work around 2:45 p.m., at 13730 Van Nuys Blvd., said spokesman Brian Humphrey of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
It took 81 firefighters 20 minutes to extinguish the flames, he said.
The fire was contained to the roof and facade above the business and no injuries were reported, Humphrey said.
A specific cause remained under investigation.
