The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Wednesday released photos of the make and model of the car detectives believe was used in the fatal shooting of 44-year-old father of four in Compton.
Carlos Ortiz was riding his bicycle north on the sidewalk of the 400 block of North Santa Fe Avenue on June 9 when what detectives believe was a 2008 black four-door Audi A6 with stock rims and tinted windows drove by.
A passenger got out of the car and shot Ortiz, striking him several times in the upper body. The shooter got back in the car and left, going north on Santa Fe Avenue.
Ortiz was declared dead at the scene.
Anyone with information on the shooting was asked to call sheriff’s homicide detectives at (323) 890-5500.
