A rowdy crowd of about 100 shut down a busy intersection of Hollywood Boulevard early Saturday morning following a disturbance.

Officers received reports of a club-goer attempting to initiate a fight with other patrons at 2 a.m. near the intersection of Hollywood Boulevard and Hudson Avenue, according to Sgt. Mike Ornelas of the Los Angeles Police Department‘s Hollywood division.

As officers attempted to stop the man, other club-goers in the area became hostile with the officers, Ornelas said. The incident shut down that area of Hollywood Boulevard as the crowd refused to leave the street.

Police dispersed the crowd in about 30 minutes. Two people were detained and Ornelas said at least one of them was likely to be arrested on suspicion of attempting to fight.
