Three residential fires broke out in Rosemead Tuesday and are being investigated as cases of arson, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department reported.

Reports of the fires started coming in around 2:20 a.m., officials said. They occurred in the 7700 block of Hellman Avenue, the 2400 block of Del Mar Avenue and the 3000 block of Jackson Avenue.

No injuries were reported, said Deputy Juanita Navarro of the Sheriff’s Information Bureau.

The fires began in carports, engulfing vehicles and causing minor damage to adjoining homes, according to broadcast reports.

There are no reports of any residents being displaced because of the fires, said Los Angeles County Fire supervising dispatcher Kyle Sanford.

According to the sheriff’s department, damage was estimated at $275,000 to structures and to as many as 15 vehicles.

“Arson investigators … believe that the fires were intentionally set and may be related,” a sheriff’s statement said.

Anyone with information about these incidents was urged to call the sheriff’s Temple Station at (626) 285-7171; the Arson/Explosives Detail at (323) 881-7500; or Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-TIPS.
