A 21-year-old man was charged Friday with murdering his 84-year-old father at their home in the high desert community of Littlerock.
Jedi Makaka Adrian was ordered to remain jailed in lieu of $2 million bail while awaiting arraignment Oct. 18.
The murder count includes the sentence enhancement allegation that the victim, Michael Adrian, was over 60 years old, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.
Sheriff’s deputies were sent to the 8800 block of Avenue T-2 about 9:30 p.m. Wednesday ” in response to a 911 call from a man stating that his father was dead,” said Deputy Guillermina Saldana.
Deputies, who arrived to find the victim dead, “discovered signs of a struggle in the home and determined that Jedi Adrian was the suspect in the killing of his father,” Saldana said.
An autopsy was pending to determine how the victim died.
If convicted, his son could face up to life in state prison, according to the District Attorney’s Office.
