A man who killed a woman in front of her Pico Rivera home was sentenced Tuesday to 80 years to life in state prison.
Richard Pallan, 32, was found guilty Feb. 23 of first-degree murder for the June 26, 2013, shooting death of Jessica Gomez, 27.
Pallan got out of a car and shot Gomez as she stood in front of her residence in the 9400 block of Underwood Street, said Deputy District Attorney John Chang. She died at a hospital.
Neighbors heard the gunfire and called 911.
Pallan was driven from the scene by Cecilia Gallegos, 30, who pleaded no contest to being an accessory after the fact and is awaiting sentencing.
Authorities have not definitively established a motive for the shooting, according to Sarah Ardalani of the District Attorney’s Office.
