Service at the Metro Blue Line Willowbrook Station was halted Wednesday after a train fatally struck a man in unincorporated Willowbrook.
Authorities received a call about a pedestrian being hit near the 119th Street crossing near Willowbrook Avenue at 8:21 p.m. Tuesday, said Ramon Montenegro of the sheriff’s Transit Policing Division.
Arriving deputies found the unconscious man who was pronounced dead at the scene by personnel from the Los Angeles County Fire Department, Montenegro said. No one on board the train was injured.
Both southbound and northbound tracks were closed for the investigation. Bus bridges have been set up for passengers between the Imperial and Compton stations, Montenegro said.
