Authorities Wednesday identified a motorist who was killed in a crash in Palmdale that was allegedly caused by another driver who was arrested on suspicion of DUI.
Rodolfo Hernandez, 53, of Palmdale died at the scene of the crash, which occurred about 8:40 p.m. Monday at the intersection of Avenue Q and 30th Street East, the coroner’s office reported.
According to the sheriff’s department, a 26-year-old man driving a 2015 Ford Fusion ran a stop sign at the intersection and broadsided Hernandez’s 1999 Toyota Corolla, and both vehicles then hit a 2001 Toyota Highlander.The occupants of the Highlander were not injured.
The driver of the Ford, whose name was not immediately released, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, authorities said.
