A Riverside County sheriff’s drug raid on an Eastvale home uncovered an indoor marijuana grow with 484 plants, authorities said Thursday.

The operation Wednesday afternoon targeted a two-story residence in the 6000 block of McIntosh Court, just off of Valencia Street.

According to sheriff’s officials, investigators were tipped off to possible illicit activity at the home and obtained a search warrant.

The property was unoccupied when deputies arrived and discovered the sizable grow, valued at $204,000, officials said.

“Also located were several storage rooms of supplies, equipment and cultivation material,” according to the sheriff’s department. “Southern California Edison assisted in the investigation and were able to confirm the theft of $3,000 worth of utility services.”

The cannabis plants were seized for destruction.

No suspects have been identified.

Numerous indoor grows have been shut down in Eastvale over the last decade. The city approved an ordinance in 2013 in an attempt to deter illegal marijuana cultivation. Under the ordinance, all rental properties are required to be registered and are subject to inspection to ensure they’re being used for legal purposes.
