An SUV and school bus collided Thursday at a Sage intersection, seriously injuring the driver of the smaller vehicle.
The wreck happened about 6 a.m. at Sage and Wilson Valley roads, just over two miles north of Highway 79, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The black SUV and school bus, which was only occupied by the driver, impacted at the intersection, though the circumstances were unclear, according to the CHP.
Riverside County Fire Department crews reached the location a short time later and discovered the SUV driver and another party injured. Their identities were not disclosed.
A helicopter was summoned to airlift the driver to Inland Valley Medical Center in Wildomr for treatment of a broken right leg and other injuries, according to the CHP.
The second victim suffered minor injuries and apparently declined to be taken to a hospital.
The intersection remained open after the crash, which was under investigation.
