A man was critically wounded Saturday morning in a Lancaster shooting.
The shooting occurred about 5:10 a.m. in the 44400 block of Division Street at Pondera Street, sheriff’s homicide Lt. Patricia Thomas told reporters at the scene.
Deputies were already on Division Street investigating a report of a burglary at the White House restaurant when they heard gunshots and saw a vehicle leave the area, Thomas said.
The deputies stopped the vehicle and found a man inside with a gunshot wound to the head, she said.
Paramedics rushed the victim to a hospital, where he was last reported in critical condition.
Homicide detectives conducted a crime scene investigation and talked to the other person inside the vehicle, said Lt. C. Skaggs of the Lancaster sheriff’s station. Suspect information was not available.
