A 33-year-old woman was arrested Thursday for allegedly stabbing a man during what Burbank police called a domestic assault.
Officers responded about 11:30 a.m. Thursday to Vickroy Park in the 2300 block of Monterey Place on a report of an assault with a deadly weapon, according to Burbank Police Department spokesman Sgt. Stephen Turner.
“An officer working in the area observed a female, with a knife in her hand, chasing a bloodied male towards the park,” Turner said in a statement. “The officer immediately intervened and ordered the two individuals to stop. The officer detained both subjects without further incident.”
According to police, the couple had been involved in a confrontation at a nearby residence, and the woman allegedly stabbed the man several times with a knife, then chased the man out of the house.
Michelle Chicco of Burbank was arrested and booked on suspicion of attempted murder. She was being held in lieu of $1 million bail, police said.
The victim was taken to a hospital, where he underwent surgery and is expected to survive.
Detectives recovered a “large bloody knife” at the scene, police said.
