Authorities Tuesday chased a motorist wanted as a possible murder suspect and arrested him in the Gardena area.

The chase led from the southbound San Diego (405) Freeway onto surface streets, where the suspect got out of the car while it was still moving and ran off near a Sky Zone trampoline park business.

He was taken into custody late Tuesday morning near the area of Western Avenue and 190th Street.

The man was being chased by personnel from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Operation Safe Streets Bureau, according to the sheriff’s department.

“Operation Safe Streets Bureau is responsible for providing suppression, intelligence and expert investigation against criminal street gangs,” according to the sheriff’s website.

Information was not immediately available on the identity of the suspect or on the homicide for which he was a possible suspect.
