Authorities sought the public’s help Tuesday to find the hit-and-run motorist responsible for severely injuring a bicyclist in the south Los Angeles area.
The 63-year-old man was injured by a vehicle after he fell from his bicycle at about 10:30 p.m. on Sept. 2 while riding on Hoover Street near 79th Street, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
“As the bicyclist was attempting to get up, a sedan traveling northbound on Hoover Street struck him,” an LAPD statement said. “The vehicle … was last seen northbound (on Hoover Street.”
Paramedics took the man to a hospital for treatment of “life threatening injuries,” police said.
“The victim remains hospitalized,” the LAPD statement said.
A standing reward of up to $25,000 has been offered by the city of Los Angeles for information that helps authorities solve a non-fatal hit and run.
