Traffic investigators from the Los Angeles County Sheriffs’ Department’s Lancaster Station are investigating the circumstances of a fatal traffic crash involving three vehicles that killed a boy in Lancaster, sheriff’s detectives said Saturday.

The crash occurred at 20th Street East and Avenue K at 5:30 p.m. Friday and the preliminary investigation indicates a man driving a Dodge Charger was entering the eastbound lanes of Avenue K, just east of 20th Street East when another man driving a Lexus ES350 who was traveling east on Avenue K in the No. 1 lane crashed into the Dodge Charger, according to Det. Jorge Diaz.

Immediately following the crash, the Lexus was pushed into the westbound lanes of Avenue K, where it was struck by a Nissan Rogue that was traveling westbound.

The victim, who was a passenger in the Lexus, was pronounced dead at the scene, Diaz said. His name and age were not released.

The cause of the crash is under investigation and anyone with information was asked to contact traffic investigators at the Lancaster Sheriff Station at 661-948-8466.
