Firefighters pulled a woman out of three to four inches of static water along the Los Angeles River in Boyle Heights Sunday, authorities said.

The woman, said to be approximately 55 years old, was “lying supine” in the water at 2750 E. Washington Blvd., the Los Angeles Fire Department reported.

Firefighters and paramedics were dispatched to the scene at 9:31 a.m. and conducted a hoist operation from the air to extract the woman, who was said to be in serious condition.

No further information was immediately available.
