A man suspected of injuring another man in Lancaster by running him over and then firing shots toward the victim has been taken into custody, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said Wednesday.
Deputies were sent to 44913 Beech Ave. around 4:10 p.m. Tuesday regarding reports of an assault with a deadly weapon at a barbershop approximately 30 feet from the sheriff’s Lancaster station, according to the department.
They located a man on the ground and began rendering medical assistance to the victim until the arrival of paramedics. The man was taken to a hospital for what were described as non-life-threatening injuries.
After further investigation, deputies determined that the victim was not shot but run over by a vehicle. Shortly after the victim was run over, the suspect, standing near the scene of the incident, allegedly began firing several rounds at the vehicle.
He was ultimately taken into custody and deputies allegedly recovered a firearm as evidence.
Anyone with additional information was urged to call Operation Safe Street detectives at 661-948-8466.
