Authorities sought the public’s assistance Friday in locating an at-risk 69-year-old man last seen in North Hills, prompting the issuance of a Silver Alert.

Hector Mejia was last seen on Sunday near Nordhoff Street and Orion Avenue at approximately 9 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol, which activated the alert on behalf of the Los Angeles Police Department.

Mejia was described as a 5-foot-7-inch-tall man weighing 180 pounds with gray hair and brown eyes.

He was last seen wearing a white shirt and dark-colored shorts.

Anyone with information regarding Mejia’s whereabouts was urged to call 911.

The CHP established the Silver Alert program to issue and coordinate alerts involving the unexplained or suspicious disappearances of elderly, developmentally disabled, or cognitively impaired individuals.
