Authorities sought the public’s help Monday in locating an at-risk 67-year-old man last seen in Monrovia, prompting the issuance of a Silver Alert.

Raul Gomez-Vela was last seen at about 6:45 p.m. Sunday near Linwood and South Magnolia avenues, according to the California Highway Patrol, which activated the alert on behalf of the Monrovia Police Department.

Vela was described as a 4-foot-11-inch-tall man weighing 140 pounds with bald hair and brown eyes. It remains unknown what he was wearing when he was last seen and reported missing.

CHP officials believe Vela is traveling in a gold 1999 Toyota Corolla with California license plate 4DYP930.

Anyone with information regarding Vela’s whereabouts was urged to call 911.

The CHP established the Silver Alert program to issue and coordinate alerts involving the unexplained or suspicious disappearances of elderly, developmentally disabled, or cognitively impaired individuals.
