Oscar-winning actor Tom Hanks will receive a special honor at next month’s Hollywood Film Awards to honor his performance in the recent box office hit “Sully,” producers announced Tuesday.

Hanks, 60, will receive the Hollywood Actor Award to recognize his portrayal of “Miracle on the Hudson” pilot Chesley “Sully” Sullenberger in the Clint Eastwood-directed drama.

“Tom Hanks delivered another amazing performance in a career filled with amazing performances,” said Allen Shapiro, CEO of dick clark productions. “We are thrilled to honor him.”

Hanks will be recognized during the HFA ceremony Nov. 6 at the Beverly Hilton.

Hanks won back-to-back Oscars for best actor for his performances in “Philadelphia” and “Forrest Gump.”
