Did Katie Couric say “yahoo!” when she left Yahoo?

“I’m very proud of my time at Yahoo anchoring live events, political coverage and breaking news with a team of very talented journalists,” Couric said in a statement quoted by The Hollywood Reporter.

“Over the past three years, we have produced a wide range of high-quality video content that was delivered to millions of viewers. I learned some valuable lessons during my tenure, which I will take with me as I continue to create, develop and produce a variety of content for different platforms in this constantly evolving landscape.”

Couric, 60, has been busy since her days at NBC (rising to host of “Today”), the CBS Evening News and ABC News.

THR noted that Couric had been global anchor for Yahoo News — a position created for her in 2013.

“She re-upped with a $10 million deal in 2015, the same year she became a special contributor for ABC News as part of an expanded partnership between the two companies. Rather than extending her contract with Yahoo parent company Oath, Couric has struck a pact to work with the Verizon subsidiary on a project basis.”

Deadline listed her biggest gets at Yahoo: Bill and Melinda Gates, Rudy Giuliani, Newt Gingrich and Edward Snowden — “which has been seen by more than 20 million people across the platform, social media and producing partner ABC News.”
