“Hard Knocks: Training Camp with the New York Jets,” “Goosebumps” and “Carpool Karaoke” were among the programs receiving nominations Friday for Producers Guild of America awards for sports, children’s and short-form programming.
Winners in the three categories will be announced during events held the week of Feb. 19, leading up to the Producers Guild Awards show on Feb. 25.
Nominated for outstanding sports program were:
— “100 Foot Wave”;
— “Beckham”;
— “Formula 1: Drive to Survive”;
— “Hard Knocks: Training Camp with the New York Jets”; and
— “Shaun White: The Last Run.”
For outstanding children’s program, nominations went to:
— “Goosebumps”;
— “Gremlins: Secrets of the Mogwai”;
— “Sesame Street”;
— “Star Wars: The Bad Batch”; and
— “The Velveteen Rabbit.”
Nominated for outstanding short-form program were:
— “Carpool Karaoke”;
— “I Think You Should Leave with Tim Robinson”;
— “The Last of Us: Inside the Episode”;
— “Only Murders in the Building: One Killer Question”; and
— “Succession: Controlling the Narrative.”
Nominations for the PGA’s documentary honor were announced earlier this week. Television and feature film nominations will be announced Jan. 12.
The Producers Guild Award for motion pictures is traditionally a strong indicator of which film will win the best picture Oscar. Since the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences expanded from five to 10 nominees in 2010, only four films have won the best picture Oscar without first winning the PGA Award. Earlier this year, both the PGA Award and the best picture Oscar went to “Everything Everywhere All at Once.”
