“Wicked” stars Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande will be among those taking to the Dolby Theatre stage Sunday to perform during the 97th Oscars ceremony, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced Monday.
Also set to perform are Doja Cat, LISA of Blackpink, Queen Latifah and RAYE, along with the Los Angeles Master Chorale.
The Academy indicated earlier this year that it was backing away from the annual Oscar tradition of having all of the nominees for best original song performed during the ceremony. The Academy did not indicate what songs each of the performers announced Monday will sing, but the inclusion of Erivo and Grande increases the likelihood that the show will include at least one song from “Wicked.”
