A fire burned nearly five acres of brush Friday afternoon near Hansen Dam in Lake View Terrace, but fire crews from three departments contained the flames before any structures were damaged.

The blaze was reported about 3:10 p.m. in the 11400 block of Osborne Street, near Foothill Boulevard, according to Nicholas Prange of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Crews from the Los Angeles County Fire Department and Angeles National Forest assisted city firefighters amid winds blowing between 10 and 15 mph.

The multi-agency effort stopped the fire’s spread at 4.6 acres around 5:50 p.m., Prange said. No structures were damaged and no injuries were reported.

Crews remained on scene to extinguish hot spots and prevent flare ups, according to Prange.
