A vehicle occupant suffered minor injuries in a three-car crash Saturday in the Sawtelle district of West Los Angeles.
The accident happened just before 8 p.m. on Beloit Avenue as the drivers were merging onto the southbound San Diego (405) Freeway at Santa Monica Boulevard.
One car hit another, causing it to smash into a third, according to Officer D. Myers of the California Highway Patrol’s West L.A. station.
Brent Allmand, 54, who was panhandling in the area, said, “I just heard a loud bang,” adding, “I knew someone hit something.”
By 8:30 p.m., a tow truck cleared the remaining car blocking the on-ramp, but some cleanup was still required.
A woman and two men were involved in the crash, and the person who complained of pain declined to be transported to a hospital, Myers said.
