Two people were injured, one critically, in a multi-vehicle crash on the westbound San Bernardino (10) Freeway in Boyle Heights Friday and had to be freed from the wreckage.
The crash was reported just before 5:20 p.m. near Soto Street, said Brian Humphrey of the Los Angeles Fire Department. Initial reports indicated that the crash involved three or four vehicles.
The trapped people were freed by about 5:40 p.m. and taken to a hospital. One was listed in critical condition and the other was reported to be in fair condition.
No other injuries were reported.
The Soto Street off-ramp and bus lane on the westbound San Bernardino Freeway in the vicinity of the crash were blocked for an unknown duration.
