A 45-year-old man was arrested Wednesday for allegedly ramming his wife’s car with his pickup truck, trapping the victim inside the vehicle and injuring her, Placentia police reported.
The attack happened about 1 a.m. at an apartment complex at 840 W. La Jolla St., according to Placentia police Lt. Eric Point.
Cirilo Ramirez rammed his pickup truck into the victim’s BMW multiple times, pushing it into a couple of garage doors in a carport, Point alleged. Ramirez then allegedly pulled his spouse out of her car, punched her several times and ran away.
A security guard chased Ramirez down and held him for police, Point said.
The woman was treated at an area hospital for minor to moderate injuries, he said.
Two garage doors were damaged and the BMW was totaled, Point said.
Ramirez was booked into the Orange County Jail on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, domestic violence and criminal threats, Point said.
