The body of a 34-year-old woman was found in a car in a movie theater parking lot Friday morning, prompting police to launch a suspicious death investigation.
A man walking his dog about 7:30 a.m. found the woman’s body slumped over the front seat of the car in the Regal La Habra Stadium 16 lot at Idaho Street and Imperial Highway, according to La Habra Police Sgt. Ron Hurst.
The witness summoned a police officer who was nearby, and the officer determined she was dead, Hurst said, noting there were no obvious signs of trauma on the body.
The car had sustained some “collision damage on both sides,” Hurst said. “But we didn’t have any collisions last night that she would have been involved in. That seemed a little strange.”
Orange County Sheriff-Coroner and crime lab officials were on scene gathering evidence, Hurst said.
The woman’s identity was withheld pending notification of her family.
